  • Lesson 1: Water, Water, Everywhere
    This first lesson is a general introduction to the topic of water under the following headings: Forms of Water, The World’s Water, The Water Cycle, Water for Life and Water Conservation.
  • Lesson 2: What is a Fish?
    In this lesson, pupils are introduced to fish as a group and the characteristics that distinguish them from other living creatures.
  • Lesson 3: Bradán Tells her Story
    This lesson focuses on where salmon spawning occurs, the ideal habitat for spawning and its development to fry and parr. A story about a salmon is choosen to illustrate this.
  • Lesson 4: Bradán's Journey Continues
    This lesson focuses on a salmon as a parr in a river, tracing the development of a salmon from parr to smolt in the middle reaches of a river.
  • Lesson 5: Bradán's Journey into the Estuary
    This part of the story focuses on Bradán as a smolt as she makes her way towards the estuary of the river in preparation for her entry into the sea.
  • Lesson 6: Bradán's Journey Ends and Begins again
    This lesson focuses on the salmon at sea, where pupils will learn how Bradán has survived all the obstacles that nature and people present and makes her way into the sea.
  • Lesson 7: Food - Nutritious and Delicious
    The theme of this lesson is the nutritional value of fish. Fish is an important source of protein and vitamins for humans. Recipes are included to encourage greater consumption of fish.
  • Lesson 8: Will there be any left for me?
    In this lesson, pupils learn how to become a good angler and environmentalist. Types of angling, the conservation of fish and habitats, and the encouragement of young people to become anglers are all themes of this lesson.
